Having grown up in Colorado, exploring the outdoors and experiencing new adventures were a natural part of my upbringing. Trips to Juarez, Mexico as a teenager opened my eyes to an entirely different culture that I felt locked out of due to the language barrier. Inspired to learn Spanish, I studied to become a bilingual Special Education teacher and spent my first year teaching in Costa Rica, living with a native family. My love for people and places all over the world led me to Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.
