Stay strong, energized, and pain-free—no matter where your travels take you.
Travel can seriously throw off your fitness routine.
Whether you're hauling bags through terminals, sitting for hours on a plane or bus, or sleeping in unfamiliar (and sometimes not-so-comfortable) beds, your body pays the price. It’s no surprise that frequent travelers often deal with back and joint pain, stiff necks, and tension headaches.
Some hotels have gyms, but not all, and when they do, the quality and availability of equipment can vary wildly. Add rich (delicious!) food, long days, and a totally different routine, and it’s easy to see how a quick trip can leave you feeling sluggish and sore.
So, how do you stay active and feel good while away from home?
Here’s the thing: we tend to treat working out like a whole event. Driving to the gym, changing, doing your thing, showering, and heading home adds up. But the truth is, you don’t need hours or fancy equipment to get an effective workout.
With just 20 minutes and zero gear (other than your suitcase), you can move your whole body and stay on track from your hotel room, Airbnb, or even a nearby park.
Here’s a simple 2-step “anywhere” workout developed by fitness coach Steve Kamb. You can tweak it over time and do it anywhere—even outside at sunset.
Step 1: Warm Up (3–4 minutes)
Get your blood flowing and muscles loosened up with this quick warm-up cycle:
25 jumping jacks
15 bodyweight squats
10 push-ups
10 lunges (each leg)
10 hip raises
25 more jumping jacks
Step 2: Bodyweight Circuit (15 minutes)
Set a timer for 15 minutes. Do the exercises below in a loop, as many rounds as you can—at your pace, with proper form. If possible, do not take breaks, but rest as needed. This is about consistency, not perfection.
20 bodyweight squats
15 incline push-ups (hands on the bed or desk, feet on the floor)
10 one-arm luggage rows (each side, using your bag or backpack as weight)
10 reverse crunches (focus on core control and form)
That’s it. Cool down with a few minutes of stretching and deep breathing, and you’re done.
Imagine returning home from vacation feeling stronger than when you left. Some travelers even make this their go-to routine for longer trips. Whether it’s done in a quiet hotel room, a sunny park, or on a beach at golden hour, it becomes part of the adventure once you build the habit.
And if you're looking for the perfect place to sneak in incline push-ups or unwind with a book and a cocktail after your workout, DPP Travel has you covered.
We’ll help you find the trip that feeds your body and soul.
Let’s plan something great together. Reach out when you're ready to get started.
