Many towns provide direct buses to Wadi Rum or close by. If bus schedules don't align with your plans, taxis are readily available, often with opportunities to negotiate fares for a more cost-effective journey.

Wadi Rum boasts a variety of accommodations catering to every traveler's taste. For an authentic desert experience, choose from traditional Bedouin camps, embrace luxury with elegantly outfitted chalets, or find a happy medium with glamping options. Climate Insights  

As a desert locale, Wadi Rum experiences a hot and dry climate throughout the year, with occasional sandstorms due to Jordan’s arid conditions. While rare, rain or snow may grace southern Jordan, particularly in January and February. With an average yearly temperature of 66º Fahrenheit, expect variations from a brisk 37º in winter to a sweltering 95º in the summer.


When to Visit  

Wadi Rum is an inviting escape any time of year, but it shines brightest between March and May and September and November when sunshine is most abundant. Hiking and climbing flourish from October through April. In February, the desert landscape transforms as local flora begins to blossom. The peak tourist months are September, October, March, and April—ideal times to explore amid bustling activity and vibrant scenery.
